The wilderness camp is located 2,5 km from the main Lodge of Lappeasuando right in the magnificent landscape of Lapland. There are no roads leading there. During the winter, you can reach the camp by snowmobile, dogsled, skis or snowshoes. The wilderness cabins are equipped with 4 single beds and a stove which will keep the cabin cozy and warm. There is no electricity or running water. The „shower“ works on the traditional way with warm water in the sauna. The authentically designed sauna, as well as the traditional Sami tent create an exceptional ambiance of peace and relaxation, far off from stress and the rush of the daily routine. The cozy atmosphere and the exclusive location, right in between the untouched rivers Kalix and Kaitum, make the wilderness camp the perfect spot to create unforgettable memories.

Lapland Digital Detox Days

Day 1
At 16:00 you are picked up at the meeting point in Kiruna city or at 16:15 at the airport. After a 1 hour drive you arrive at the lovely Lappeasuando Lodge. Welcome! Your host gives you an introduction on the coming days. If you wish, you can leave your smartphone here, so you don’t even need to think of it during the next days. Equipped with warm winter clothes, you get a short introduction on the technique of walking with snowshoes. Then your guide leads you on a 2,5 km long hike through the winterly forest. Take a deep breath in the clean and fresh air, you have arrived at your well deserved time-out. At the wilderness camp you make yourselfcomfortable and enjoy the evening with a delicious dinner.

Day 2
Today a real winter adventure is awaiting you. Your guide meets you at the camp in the morning and you go back to the lodge where friendly huskies can’t wait to take you out on a sled ride. After an introduction you find yourself standing on the runners of a dogsled heading out in the winter wonderland. The dogs just love to runand are totally happy when they are on tour. Silence and freedom are surrounding you while you are gliding through the unspoiled nature. Back at the wilderness camp you can enjoy the traditional wood heated sauna and the simple coziness of the cabin. In the evening you enjoy your farewell dinner and try another chance at the northern lights.

Day 3
Time is luxury and today you have it all for yourself. You decide if you want to go out by skis or snowshoes or spend the whole day at the camp, read a good book and relax in the sauna. You can also try your luck at icefishing, a very popular hobby for locals. Although the camp is not too far away from the main lodge, it feels like you are right in the middle of nowhere. There is no TV, no phone, no computer. You can get back to the basics and perhaps you even loose the feeling for time. In the evening you might see the beautiful northern lights. The chances are good because there are no disturbing artificial lights around the wilderness camp.

Day 4
In the morning you still have some time for a hike with snowshoes or a little ski trip. You can also book another guided activity, of course. Then your guide will lead your way back to the lodge. At 11:30 you are transferred back to Kiruna. With your batteries recharged you travel back home.
