Ice Cave and Snowmobiling Adventure One-day tour

Description

Go on a snowmobiling ride on Langjökull glacier and get a guided tour of the man-made glacier cave on this spectacular new tour!
On our way to Langjökull, we will stop by Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe but about 180 litres of 97° C water flow through it every second.
The next stop will be at the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. Hraunfossar is a series of small waterfalls that stretch over almost a kilometre. The waterfalls are called Lava Waterfalls, but they flow from underneath the lava field that surrounds the area. Only a few metres away is the beautiful Barnafoss or Children Waterfall.
The name comes from two children who fell into it after they fell off a stone bridge that covered the waterfall. Their mother vowed that no one would be able to survive crossing the bridge, but thankfully the bridge collapsed soon after so her cursed was never tried.
We will have a lunch break in Húsafell.
After our lunch break, we are ready for the real adventure. At the base Jaki, we will get ready for a short snowmobile ride (10-15-minute ride) up to the glacier cave where we meet our guide and go Into the Glacier. The cave goes 200 metres into the glacier and about 40 metres underneath the ice cap, and it is possible to see the layers of ice in the cave walls.
After the tour, we will go on our snowmobiles and drive back to Jaki (10-15-minute ride) before heading back to Reykjavík on the tour bus.
