Are you tired of crowded shopping malls and pre-christmas stress? Then just escape from the hustle and bustle. Instead you will enjoy a few days of relaxation and exotic winter activities in the unspoiled winter paradise of Swedish Lapland. Drive your own husky team, look out for northern lights and perhaps you even meet elves and trolls in the snowy forest…
Accommodation: Lappeasuando Lodge
All of the 8 rooms are designed in a typical Swedish manner. They offer space for 2 – 4 persons and are equipped with shower, WC and WLAN-connection. The rooms provide you with a divine view on the Kalix River and the old bridge leading over it, one of our regional landmarks. You are invited to use the sauna in the old ferryman cottage. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant in the main building.

Franziska is originally from Switzerland but has been living in Northern Sweden since 2014. She speaksGerman, French, English and Swedish.

Itinerary
DAY 1

Day 1
At 16:00 you are picked up at the meeting point in Kiruna city or at 16:15 at the airport. After a 1 hour drive you arrive at the lovely Lappeasuando Lodge. Here you are welcomed by your host. You get a little introduction about the coming days as well as warm winter clothes which will keep you warm during your winter adventure. Dinner is served in the Lodge`s restaurant.
Day 2
After breakfast you are ready for an adventurous day out in the winterly nature. Today’s program is a snowmobile safari. Driving is easy and a lot of fun. You get an introduction and then head off into the wilderness. During lunch time you arrive at a wilderness camp where you enjoy the lunch by the campfire in a cozy Kota. Afterwards you can try the traditional wood heated sauna. Relax and enjoy the simplicity far away from civilisation. In the late afternoon you drive back to the lodge which is just a short ride away from the wilderness camp. Dinner is served in the Lodge`s restaurant. It is always good to take a look outside before you go to sleep. With a little bit of luck you can see the magical northern lights dancing in the sky.
Day 3
Another winter adventure is waiting for you with excited barking. Your guide shows you how to harness the huskies and how to drive the dogsled. Then it is time to head out into the winter wonderland. As soon as the dogs run, they are quiet and happy. There is no better way to enjoy the peaceful nature in the winter. As the days are short at this time of year, you get to enjoy a very special experience. Driving through the snowy forest in the dark. The snow reflect the light of the moon, the stars and your headlight which creates a romantic and mystic atmosphere. Back at the lodge you first take care of your dogs before you enjoy a cozy evening with dinner and sauna.
Day 4
In the morning you still have some time for a hike with snowshoes or a little ski trip. You can also book another guided activity, if you wish. At 11:30 you get a transfer back to Kiruna. With your batteries recharged and ready for Christmas you travel back home.
