  • The minimum age for a Highland Explorer Tour passenger is 5 years old.  
  • Those who are 17 year old pay the adult price, but need to be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.  
  •  Please arrive to check-in 15 minutes before departure
  • Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark. 
  • Highland hotels and guesthouses do not have lifts/elevators. Guests should be able to walk up steps in order to access rooms.
  • Cancellations made 21 days or less prior to departure will incur a 100% fee.
  • In this new, fast-changing Covid-19 era, we are doing all we can to adapt to new requirements and expectations, given the disruption caused.     Your Responsibility
    All our guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organization and local Government guidelines.

    o Face mask. These are to be worn at all times on the coach and in public areas.
    • Temperature checks will be taken at the start of each day on tour. If your temperature is above 37.5 degrees, you may not be able to travel.

DAY 1
Edinburgh to Oban

We leave Edinburgh at 9.00am and head north to Stirling and the towering Wallace Monument with stunning views of the Castle. We enter the
Highlands heading through wild Rannoch Moor and Glencoe and on to the fishing port of Oban. (Overnight: Oban) 

DAY 2
Oban to Isle of Skye

Oban to Isle of Skye

Take the steam train from Fort William and discover why this spectacular trip has been voted the best train journey in the world by Wanderlust Magazine. Cross the Glenfinnan viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies and take in the sweeping views of Loch Shiel. We arrive in Mallaig and take the ferry ‘Over the Sea to Skye’. You have the option of exploring Armadale Castle and Gardens, the former home of the MacDonalds, before driving north to our overnight
destination. (Overnight: Portree) 

DAY 3
Isle of Skye to Inverness

We explore more of the magical Isle of Skye with its awe-inspiring mountains, stunning coastline, myths and legends before returning to the mainland. On the way to Loch Ness, we stop at the incredibly photogenic Eilean Donan Castle and wind our way along the Great Glen to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands.

DAY 4
Inverness

Inverness

Hunt for the elusive monster with a cruise on Loch Ness before turning northward to the stunning beauty of the north-west Highlands. We take in the beautiful town of Beauly with its Priory dating back to 1230, and then it's into the rugged and isolated mountains that secure Scotland's place as one of the last great wilderness in Europe. We try a dram of the 'water of life' at a Highland Whisky Distillery before heading back to Inverness for the evening.

DAY 5
Inverness to Edinburgh

Inverness to Edinburgh

We explore Culloden Battlefield, the scene of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat back in 1746 then the mysterious chamber cairns of Clava Cairns; which inspired the hit TV series Outlander. We visit the Highland Folk Museum to get a real taste of Highland life from the past centuries before heading to Dunkeld with its mighty cathedral, on our way back to Edinburgh. The tour returns at approximately 5.30pm.
