Highland Games
More details

Highland Games

The Highland Games are renowned the world over as a test of strength between Clans. These athletic contests date back over 900 years and the Games are a fantastic spectacle where you’ll see Highland dancing, pipe band displays, hammer throwing, tug-of-war and caber tossing.

We have created a range of day tours based around these spectacular cultural events that include the best of our beautiful landscape. Each has its own local charm and character. Leave Edinburgh at 08.30am* and travel to the heart of our country to discover picturesque towns or villages. Spend the day mingling with the locals, admiring traditional Highland Dress and trying local specialities before arriving in Edinburgh at 5.45pm.

Our programme includes a visit to the world famous Braemar Gathering attended by members of the Royal Family since Queen Victoria first attended in 1848.

(*Braemar Gathering departs at 08.00am and returns at approximately at 8.30pm)
