Join us on this guided day tour to Voss and experience Voss gondol, Mount Hanguren and a delicious lunch at Hangurstoppen Restaurant. The tour starts from Bergen Railway Station and a train ride on the Bergen Line to Voss. The 1,5 hours train journey takes us through beautiful scenery along fjords, rivers, lakes and mountains. We leave the train at Voss and enter the newest attraction here, the Voss Gondol, (opened in July 2019) that takes us from the train station and up to the Mount Hanguren (820 masl) in less than 9 minutes. At the top you will have a panoramic view to many of the mountains surrounding the town of Voss.
Hiking at Hanguren Panorama - The round tour starts just outside the top station at Hangurstoppen. This is an easy walk that is suitable for all ages and levels, and you can even bring a stroller. The trail is around 800 meter and offers beautiful panoramic view of Voss’ mountains, lakes and part of the town centre. You'll also find a variety of activities here - in the summertime it is popular to go hiking, biking, paragliding or rappelling. In the winter the gondola takes you to the big ski resort, Voss Resort, where you can have fun in the snow all day.
Lunch at Hangurstoppen Restaurant - At the top station of the gondol you'll also find Hangurstoppen Restaurant. The restaurant has room for 450 people and serves cold and warm dishes made from local ingredients. Here we will be served a lunch meny, special made for us. The tour goes back to Bergen by train and ends at Bergen Railway Station

DAY 1

When you start this half day tour in Bergen, you travel with the Bergen Railway, ranked as one of the 20 best train journeys in the world, through beautiful mountain and fjord scenery on the way to Voss. Bergen Railway is a 496 kilometres (308 mi) long scenic standard gauge railway line between Bergen and Oslo. It is the highest mainline railway line in Northern Europe, crossing the Hardangervidda plateau at 1,237 metres (4,058 ft) above sea level. The railway opened from Bergen to Voss in 1883 as the narrow gauge Voss Line. In 1909 the route was continued over the mountain to Oslo and the whole route converted to standard gauge, and the Voss Line became part of the Bergen Line. The line is single track, and was electrified in 1954-64. The Flåm Line remains as the only branch line, after the closure of the Hardanger Line.

Voss is a municipality in Vestland county and the administrative center is the village of Vossevangen. Voss is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast-flowing whitewater rivers. This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, water sports, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. Every year in the last week of June the area hosts the Extreme Sports Week which is regarded as the world's premier extreme sports festival. Bømoen, the local airstrip, is home to Skydive Voss, one of the largest dropzones in Norway, as well as a gliding club. The rivers provide various levels of white water, attracting kayaking, rafting and river boarding. Kite surfing and para-bungee may be seen on lake Vangsvatnet. The ski area, to the north of the town, is accessible via a cable car, Voss Gondol.

The new Voss Gondol, opened in July 2019 and takes you from the train station in Voss and to Mount Hanguren (820 masl) in under nine minutes. This is the largest and most modern mountain gondola in Northern Europe.
At the top station you will have a panoramic view to many of the mountains surrounding the town of Voss. You'll also find a variety of activities here - in the summertime you can go hiking, biking, paragliding or rappelling. In the winter the gondola takes you to the big ski resort Voss Resort, where you can have fun in the snow all day.
