Welcome

(Osøyro)

Thirty miles from Flesland Airport is Osøyro, the center of Bjørnafjorden, with a view of Folgefonna Glacier. The saga starts in Osøyro where we board the boat and get acquainted.

An ever changing landscape

At the harbour in Osøyro, you muster on the boat, which becomes your companion throughout the journey. First it sails past Norwegian composer and violin virtuos Ole Bull's house. Furthermore, you will experience farm visits from the boat in Lukksundet and try your luck fishing, before we sail past the troll in Uskedalen, beautiful Rosendal, past the bay Sild before we arrive at Øystese. Hardangerfjord Hotel offers comfortable new rooms, inn door water park and local gastronomy.

Apples and Cider

On the way to Ulvik we first travel to Norheimsund and a quick bus ride up to Steinsdalsfossen. Steinsdalsfossen is a powerful waterfall you can walk behind! After that, we continue into the fjords for lunch at a historical fjord hotel with an excellent kitchen. Now we are in the midst of beautiful Hardangerfjord and finally arrive at Brakanes Hotell, which has an idyllic location in the heart of Ulvik, with a garden that goes down to the fjord. Here you can choose to join the Cider Route, which runs between three farms. And we promise, our ciders surpasses French bubbles! If you want to relax at the hotel, there is a beach, wooden spa tub, sauna and kayaks.

Waterfall after waterfall

The saga continues into the fjords and we now travel to Eidfjord. On the way we visit Osafjord with magnificent nature, old farms and waterfalls. Nothing else in Norway offers more national romance than this particular area, where Bridal Procession on the Hardangerfjord by Tidemand and Gude descend from. The boat's unique bow makes it possible for us to go straight into Skorselva's waterfall, and those who are not afraid of getting wet, can get fresh drinking water. Eidfjord is surrounded by steep mountains, which characterize the village and the locals. We are going home to Tunet på Haugen to Mona and Hans Olav. In Eidfjord we must experience Vøringfossen with its lookout points, lots of energy and - for those who dare - walk over the newest bridges that cross the waterfall. Of course there will be dinner in the evening at Hotel Vøringfoss. For those who want, you can go on the spectacular trip up to Kjeåsen.

A day on the fjord

(Strandebarm, Tysnes and Haaheim Gard)

This day offers a longer voyage, where we really get to experience the fjord. On the way we stop by the venerable Eikeneset or historic Hardingasete for lunch and the taste of Hardanger, before we pass the famous Omaholmen to take the ultimate instagram photo. Finally we arrive in Tysnes and the old country store to Torstein with homemade chocolate, a man with 1000 stories and a bakery from 1880. Torstein takes us further up to the hotel Haaheim Gaard. A product in the Historic Hotels that gives peace of mind.
