What to bring

Vilholdt Rejser offers a fully serviced walking tour with great food and only uses local Icelandic guides. Our experienced guides guide you throughout the trip and provide good food throughout the hike - preferably with a helping hand from you. In addition, the guide can tell many stories about the area and Iceland.

You only need to carry the most necessary equipment on the hiking route itself and the guide transports your luggage between accommodations. As there is limited space in the car (jeep), you must limit your packing.

We give high priority to safety, so you can walk safely on your own between the accommodations and enjoy nature. The weather conditions in Iceland and in the highlands can change quickly and therefore it is important to have experienced local guides with you who know the area and safety. Therefore, we only use local guides with great knowledge and experience in nature and you can expect trained staff who are flexible and can change the route quickly if necessary.
