GLYMUR WATERFALL
An easy to moderate, beautiful hike, to the highest waterfall of Iceland.
We pick you up at your accommodation in Reykjavik and continue towards Hvalfjördur (e.Whale Fjord) where you will be rewarded with unforgettable landscapes and unique panoramic views. We will head to Botnsdalur, a valley which hides a real gem of nature and the 198 m. (0.12 mi) high Glymur Waterfall. Once we reach the end of the road we put our hiking shoes on, grab a camera and set on 2.3 hour hike through canyons, a birch forest, and lava fields. We will be crossing a small cave where on the other side you will see: a glimpse of paradise, a clear and joyous stream running among moss and tall grass. Enjoy a breath of fresh air as you will be spending your day in the outdoors hiking in beautiful surroundings.

After experiencing an impressive landscape of a canyon, Glymur waterfall, cliffs and lava fields will continue to Thingvellir, Iceland´s oldest national park protecting a scenic 84-sq-km lake of Thingvallavatn. This place of lonely beauty is Unesco World Heritage Site and it is where early setllers of Iceland established the world´s first democratic parliament, also has a suberb geological setting between an earth fissure separating North American and Euroasian tectonic plates. We will be back to Reykjavik in early afternoon.
