Pick up every Monday from the Airport or Train Station in Rovaniemi

Duration: 7 Days and 6 Nights 

The main goal of this trip is to explore Lapland thoroughly and to experience the natural beauty of the Arctic, the Northern Lights, the ice and the snow! Let’s experience the fun of the Arctic outdoor adventures and taste the authentic Arctic cuisine!

What´s Included

  • Airport or train station transfer on the first and last day
  • 4 nights accommodation in Hotel Aakenus or Scandic Hotels or similar - subject to availability
  • 1 night accommodation in Holiday Club Saariselka or similar - subject to availability
  • 1 night stay at Arctic Glass Igloo (Aurora Nest Eco Glass Igloo or similar - subject to availability)
  • Professional Guide in English. Other languages may be available upon request

What to bring

  • Please bring your driving license on the day of the activity. (Snowmobile)

  • *Please note that the northern lights are subject to weather conditions and solar activity. Therefore they cannot be 100% guaranteed.
  • At least 4 people are required as minimum participants requirement.
  • A valid driver’s license is required if you wish to drive the snowmobile. Please note two people will be sharing one snowmobile together. Our guide will stop halfway of the tour for you to switch drivers. 
  • Children under 14 year old must be accompanied by one adult paying full price joining the same trip.
  • Please be ready and wait in your hotel lobby at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time.
  • Infant under the age of 3 is complimentary.
  • Product may be canceled or rescheduled if the group size is smaller than 2 persons. Notice will be given prior to the scheduled departure date.

DAY 1

Welcome to Rovaniemi, the Official Hometown of Santa Claus! Your guide will pick you up at the airport or the train station and take you to our Safari Office to dress you in proper winter clothes that you will use for the staying period in Lapland. Take a rest in your hotel after check-in and prepare yourself to the first adventure. At the evening, you will head out to the forest for enjoying the Arctic Circle campfire dinner in the middle of the Lappish wilderness. At the same time, try to hunt for unique Northern Lights in the starry sky!

After breakfast at your hotel, you will set off to the Ranua Wildlife Park where you are able to observe Arctic animals in their natural environment as possible. The Wildlife park includes approximately 50 wild animal species and 200 individuals. Ranua Zoo is Lapland’s leading tourist attraction for families to greet unique, lovely Arctic animals, including polar bears!

After a delicious lunch buffet experience a traditional sauna, a major element in the Finnish culture. Try ice swimming in a frozen lake to refresh yourself and to improve your blood circulation due to temperature change. In the evening, head out for a Snowmobile adventure to hunt a wonderful natural phenomenon - Aurora Borealis. Enjoy a campfire BBQ under starry Lappish sky.

After breakfast buffet, start your journey from Rovaniemi to Luosto, where you will visit the amethyst mine and dig for your own Amethyst! The amethyst mine is located on top of the Lampivaara hill close to the Luosto recreation center situated in the middle of the beautiful landscape. A professional miner will share fascinating stories with you and provide instructions on how to use mining tools. 

Afterward, you will head to the peaceful village of Saariselkä in the middle of the wilderness. The area of Saariselkä is famous for its open fell sceneries, fresh air and pure nature, and the longest toboggan slope in Europe! In the evening, experience the wonderful phenomenon of Northern Lights on top of the hill named Kaunispää (beautiful point). 

DAY 4

Sami Museum in Inari & Ice Fishing & Northern Lights

Travel from Saariselkä to Inari, the largest municipality in Finland that charms the visitors and the locals with its unique nature and its diverse culture. Numerous lakes, thousands of islands, hundreds of fells, and a wide variety of flora and fauna provide unforgettable experiences for people who visit the region annually. In Inari, you will visit the national museum of Sami people, which present culture of the Finnish Sámi through its exhibitions and publications. 

After visiting the museum, head out for a forest adventure, where you will be provided with a traditional campfire fish lunch after hiking. Later, try to catch Nordic fish during the Ice Fishing experience in the frozen lake. Your guide will help you to find the best location for drilling a hole. Afterward, spend the evening outside surrounded by wilderness and Northern Lights by a campfire. 

DAY 5

You will be transferred back to Rovaniemi after breakfast. Today's adventure starts with visiting Santa Claus Village where you will have a private meeting with Santa Claus. At the popular Santa’s Post office, you can greet Christmas Elves and be able to send postcards to your family and friends. Moreover, the Arctic Circle cuts right through Santa Claus Village. You will officially enter the Arctic when you cross the line. Later, you will be provided with the Arctic Circle Crossing Certificate!

Now it’s time to visit the Husky farm! Let’s experience the enthusiasm of running dogs during the short but exciting sleigh ride. After the unforgettable experience with Husky, make a stop for a Lappish lunch break in the great outdoors!

At the Reindeer farm, where you will meet the real reindeer herders, who will tell you about Reindeer lifestyle. You will be siting in a reindeer sleigh to experience the traditional way of traveling in Lapland. After the ride, you will receive a reindeer driver license to memorize the moment!

Enjoy the most unforgettable night of your lifetime in the Arctic Glass Igloo! Although there is no way to guarantee an aurora sighting since a clear sky, geomagnetic activity and a dash of luck are needed, the possibility for a great northern light show at the Arctic Glass Igloos is almost optimal.

Start the day with a cultural visit to the Arktikum Museum. The Arktikum is a museum and science center that lets you experience northern nature, culture, and history up close. The most visible part of the museum is the tube serves as the "Gateway to the Northglass" corridor which is 172 meters long and is dissected by the 30-meter wide Kittilä highway. Afterward, embark on unforgettable hiking and snowshoeing journey into the Arctic forest. Have the opportunity to try Ice Floating in the forest lake with your expert guide' assistance after a bonfire lunch. 

DAY 7

Visit the Arctic Snow Castle & Departure

In the morning, set off to your last journey 30 minutes far from Rovaniemi city center! Visit the incredible Arctic Snowcastle built entirely of pure white snow and magnificent ice sculptures by the Arctic designers. A guide will tell you how to keep the snow castle in an appropriate form for a whole winter, how to sleep in the ice hotel and much more interesting facts. In the Arctic Snowcastle, you will find an ice bar, an ice restaurant, an ice chapel and snow hotel. Afterward, you will be transferred to Rovaniemi airport / train station.
