The location is famous for the optical illusion that strikes, when you can see the lake and the ocean in the same view. The tour begins in Tórshavn, the capital, were the bus picks you up at your hotel and the drives to the islands Vágoy is approx 40 minutes. During the drive, the guide will inform you about daily life on the islands while driving on mountain roads and through one subsea tunnel. This tour is a combination of guided sightseeing to villages like Gásadalur, Bøur & Sandavágur, where you will get opportunities to take photos of Drangarnir, Tindhólmur and a hiking tour to Trælanýpan or the “Lake above the ocean”

Pick up times – 8.15am to 9.00am
Depart from Tórshavn
Photo opportunities of Norðradalsskarð and Sornfelli
Arrive in Kollafjørð for coffee
Drive to and through the subsea tunnel
Arrive in the village of Sandavágur, were we will make a stop to see some historical remains.
Arrive at Leitisvatn and see the statue of “Nykur”, a mythical faroes figure
Arrive at the village of Bøur, were you will get the opportunity to walk around the village and see the amazing views of Tindholmur and Drangarnir.
back on the bus and drive to the village of Gásadalur, were we will have a packed lunch and beverages.
A short walk to Múlafossur, the most well known waterfall in the Faroe islands.
Depart for Miðvágur and start to hike
Arrive at Trælanípa and experience the “optical illusion” with the lake above the ocean
Walk to Bøsdalafossur, the beautiful waterfall that runs from the lake
Hike back to the starting point in Miðvágur
Back in Miðvágur, and drive back to the capital of Tórshavn
