Walk among the birds in one of the biggest puffin colonies in the world, on your way to the famous white lighthouse at the westernmost point of the Faroe Islands. Enjoy our organic packed lunch of home made bread with traditional local toppings and quench your thirst with natural spring-water. Back in the village of Mykines, you are invited in by a local, to a old typical Faroese style built turf roof house, from 1880. Immerse yourself deep in the Faroese culture, as a local invites you to a home made dinner and regional delicacies and share with you their stories from this remote island of Mykines.

Subject to favorable weather conditions. If the ferry cancelled due to poor weather, and the tour has started, another tour to the island Vágar will be done instead with option to hike "Lake above the ocean"

Pick up times – 8.15am to 9.00am
Leave Tórshavn by mountain road
Arrive in the village of Sorvagur, were the ferry waits us
Depart on the ferry to Mykines
Arrive in Mykines and walk up to the village, and into a house, which is our base for the day
A homemade packed lunch is given to you, which you will bring with you for the hike
Depart from the village of Mykines, and start a 130m upp hill hike
Arrive at the hilltop and begin to see puffins
Arrive at an are called “À Rógvu”, which is the highest point of the day (150M)
Walk through puffin colony, also called “Ì Lamba”
Walk over a bridge between Mykines Island and Mykines Islet (20m above sea level)
Walk the 1,5 km distance from the bridge over to the lighthouse, which is the westernmost point
Eat the packed lunch by the lighthouse, while enjoying the view.
Walk back to the village where our local will greet us with warm food, and see one of the houses that is build in an old traditional faroes way. ( Heimablíðni or Home Visit )
Free time to walk around in the village
The ferry departs for Sørvág
Arrive in Sørvág and begin the journey back to Tórshavn.
