We offer a range of pick-up points located in central & west London, all of which are easy to reach by public transport. You can choose to meet us at whichever pick-up point is most convenient for you.
After our London pick ups, we depart London for Wiltshire. Your tour guide will enthrall you en route with interesting facts & stories about the sights you will see on the way & the Neolithic monuments that you will visit today.
Here we will walk up the hillside to one of the largest Neolithic burial tombs in Britain that is over 5000 years old. Your tour guide will take you into the burial chambers and bring its fascinating history to life. From here, you can also see Silbury Hill, the largest prehistoric, man-made mound in Europe that is a similar size to some Egyptian pyramids and whose purpose is still largely unknown.
This is the approximate time of departure from West Kennet Long Barrow to Avebury, but please pay attention to your tour guide on the day as timings may vary.
On arrival in Avebury, we’ll have a short walking tour of the stone circles of this small village. Then you’ll have free time to explore the village – we recommend a late lunch or drink at the infamous, haunted Red Lion pub.
The time of departure from Avebury varies by date depending on the closing time of Stonehenge. Kindly pay attention to your tour guide, who will keep you updated with the correct meeting times on the day.
We arrive at Stonehenge 30mins prior to our pre-booked slot for special access to the inner stone circle when the site is closed to the public. Our time inside the inner circle lasts up to an hour and is fully guided.
After our once-in-a-lifetime, intimate Stonehenge experience, we meet back at the coach and head back to London.
There will be 2-3 drop-offs in central London subject to traffic & other considerations on the day. Our tour guide will advise the specific drop-off locations and will be happy to help with public transport advice if needed. Please note that there can be some traffic travelling back into central London & all itinerary times are approximate & subject to change.
