Day 2
We offer a range of pick-up points located in central & west London, all of which are easy to reach by public transport. You can choose to meet us at whichever pick-up point is most convenient for you. If you wish to change your pickup point please contact us 24 hours before departure.
After the London pickups we head to Southampton for our ferry crossing.
We usually board the ferry for a 10:00 Southampton to East Cowes crossing, which takes around 50mins. There are facilities and refreshments on board the ferry and you can go on deck to see the view.
Once we have arrived on the Isle of Wight, our first stop is Osborne House, where you will have around 2hrs to visit Queen Victoria’s summer palace (entrance is included)
After our visit of Osborne House, we will head south towards Sandown & Shanklin, two of the most beautiful beaches on the Isle, and where our hotel is usually located. On our way there, we will pass by Newport and the famous Carisbrooke Castle.
Once we arrive in Sandown, we can check in to our hotel. After this, you have the afternoon & evening free to enjoy the beaches as well as the lovely boutiques & restaurants on the boardwalk at Sandown and neighbouring Shanklin.
After breakfast at the hotel (included), we depart the hotel to discover the West side of the Isle of Wight.
Our first stop takes up to the small village of Godshill; home of a model village, locally-brewed cider, beautiful thatched cottages and strange cuisine such as garlic chocolate.
This is the approximate time of departure from Godshill to The Needles, but kindly pay attention to your tour guide on the day as meeting times may vary.
After our visit to Godshill, we will take the coastal road to reach The Needles, a row of three stacks of chalk that rise 30m out of the sea and probably the most famous landmark on the Isle of Wight.
After approximately 2hrs at The Needles, we will take the short drive to Yarmouth.
We arrive at Yarmouth, a small village with a beautiful harbour and gorgeous little boutique shops.
We leave Yarmouth and head towards East Cowes for the return crossing to Southampton.
We usually catch the 17:30 ferry from East Cowes to Southampton.
There will be 2-3 drop-offs in central London subject to traffic & other considerations on the day. Our tour guide will advise the specific drop-off locations and will be happy to help with public transport advice if needed. Please note that there can be some traffic travelling back into central London & all itinerary times are approximate & subject to change.
