Come cycle the 42km Great Western Greenway in county Mayo, the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland. The world class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail, which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937.

The Greenway traverses Ireland’s Atlantic coast between Westport town and Achill Island and visits the picturesque villages of Newport and Mulranny. It passes by some of the West of Ireland’s most dramatic mountains and offers magnificent views of Clew Bay and its many islands. This package includes a local qualified cycling guide as well as a delicious gourmet packed picnic lunch to enjoy per person. Bikes available: Hybrid, electric, children and Canadian buggy.

A local qualified cycling guide, bike hire, gourmet picnic lunch (please advise any dietary requirements) safety equipment and roadside assistance along the Greenway.

What to bring

What to bring: Water and sustenance, sun glasses, sun block, camera, raingear for the ever changeable weather and rucksack to carry your items. What to wear: Clothes and footwear appropriate for cycling a bicycle.
